Continuing their celebration of the holiday season, the members of the Leisure Hour Club will meet for the monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14 at the Carson Plaza Event Center in Carson City.
The festive mood for the dinner meeting will be enhanced by the music of Don and Nadine Klestinski and photo ops with Santa. The duo are a popular local couple who play and sing for local senior dances, casino showrooms, weddings, and anniversaries. They will demonstrate their exceptional musical talents with a number of holiday classics as well as a few oldies that can be enjoyed by listeners of all ages.
The Leisure Hour Club, established in September of 1896, is Carson City’s oldest continuously meeting social organization. The organization is focused on its goal of promoting knowledge on important issues, science, music and literature. Its motto of “Let knowledge grow from more to more” comes from Tennyson’s poem In Memoriam.
