The new Mobile Suit Gundam film, Gundam Seed FREEDOM, has topped the Japanese box office and a new music video featuring T.M. Revolution has been released to celebrate!
The official YouTube channel of Takanori Nishikawa, also know as T.M. Revolution, has released a new collaboration music video on his official YouTube channel for the anime film Gundam Seed FREEDOM. The new video, included below, sees T.M. Revolution perform the film’s theme song “Freedom,” which was produced by t.komuro (Tetsuya Komuro).
Gundam Seed FREEDOM premiered in Japan on January 26 and is scheduled for screenings in 56 countries and territories. To date the film has sold 1.32 million tickets and earned 2.12 billion yen (approximately US$14.2 million).
Gundam Seed FREEDOM topped Japan’s box office in its first weekend. In its first three days the film sold 634,182 tickets, earning 1.06 billion yen (about US$7.20 million). This marks the highest three-day opening box office earnings for the Gundam franchise, and the biggest opening weekend for a film in Japan so far this year.
Mitsuo Fukuda, the director of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, directed the film at Bandai Namco Filmworks. Fukuda co-wrote the script with his late wife Chiaki Morosawa and Liu Goto. Hisashi Hirai designed the characters.
See-Saw returned to the franchise to perform the film’s ending song “Sarigiwa no Romantics”, the duo’s first new music in two decades.
The film opened in Japan on January 26. The film is planned for screenings in 56 countries and territories.
