Meghan Markle could make “millions within months” which will ease her “money worries” one brand expert has predicted – but it could come at a personal cost.
This comes as Prince Harry jetted 5,000 miles this week from LA to London to be by his father’s side after his cancer diagnosis.
It’s been reported that Meghan, 41, andHarry, 39, are running out of cash after seeing a number of lucrative mega money deals slip through their fingers.
But according to brand Denise Palmer-Davies, Meghan could change her financial situation quickly – as long as she is willing to put in the work and take risks.
Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, Denise, director of Borne Media, said: “If it is true that they are facing financial worries, then they will both need to do some grafting to make a quick buck.
“Meghan is a former Hollywood star who married a British, so every brand on the planet would happily throw at her and she could make millions within months – but is she prepared to take risks?
“Meghan is notoriously picky about the work she does and the brands she works with, and rightly so, as her work should align with her values and her brand.
“But if they do desperately need the cash then Meghan may have to relook at offers she may have previously turned down, and she might see this as risky or a personal cost to her.”
Denise added: “The fastest way for her to make money is by collaborating with huge fashion or beauty brands or by doing personal appearances and panel talks. She could rake it in, but she might see this sort of thing as beneath her status now. I guess it’s something she will need to consider and weigh up.”
The couple are believed to be facing financial pressures after Harry was hit with a reported £750,000 legal bill following his libel trial.
Meghan and Harry have also lost a number of multi million pound deals since moving to America in 2020.
Meghan’s animated kids’ Netflix series Pearl was dropped because “few children would care if the show they were watching had been produced by a duchess,” and her Archetypes podcast was also terminated, marking the end of their £15.6million Spotify.
And last November, it was reported the couple have been warned they could lose their Netflix deal, rumoured to be worth £78 million, if they don’t “come up with the goods.”
At the time, Meghan promised the couple had “so many exciting things on the slate” – which so far has included a cameo in an ad for coffee brand Clevr which was branded “cringey” by critics.
Here we look at all the ways Meghan can make mega money within just a few months:
Beauty brands – from £2 million plus
“Being the face of a skincare and perfume brand is a good way to make big money,” Denise said. “Keira Knightley and Emma Watson are believed to have been paid millions from their Chanel, though these deals are often over a year or two.
“I can see Meghan being the face of a skincare or make up brand. We know she loves Dior as her make-up artist Daniel Martin used the eye palette on her wedding day and Dior could be a lucrative brand for her to align with.
“She is also a huge fan of the Chanel Cassis Eyeliner to get her signature upper lash line so perhaps she could follow in Keira and Emma’s footsteps and bag her own Chanel campaign.”
Instagram posts – from £1 million per post
Denise said: “Someone like Kylie Jenner can make up to £1 million per Instagram post to her 4 million followers.
“Meghan and Harry have 9 million followers on their jointaccount so they could look to make a similar fee, or possibly more, with a sponsored post.
“Though it wouldn’t be something I would like to personally see them do as it could come across as tacky and I think they’d get a lot of stick for it.”
Fashion– £1 million upwards
“Meghan loves her fashion and wears anything from the high street (& Other Stories) to high end (Givenchy).” Denise said. “She could follow in the footsteps of the Beckhams and bag a deal with a huge brand like Armani, or Burberry, who she is also a huge fan of.
“Meghan owns so many of their coats and macs, I could see her fronting a campaign for them and that would come with a huge pay cheque.
“Kate Moss and Cara Delevigne were rumoured to have made a few million from, and there’s no reason Meghan couldn’t expect the same.”
PA appearances and speeches – £750,00- £1 million
Denise said: “Meghan apparently charged around £15,000 for every public speaking event at the height of her Suits fame and she would command a lot more now.
“It’s believed Harry and Meghan charge around $1 million (£791,000) per speech and they would only need to do one a month to make a very healthy income.”
